Maintenance of Certification

As per the MOH Certification Standard and the CPER Certification Policy (C-001), all CPER Paramedics must meet annual requirements in order to maintain certification.  A comprehensive list can found in CPER’s Certification Policy (C-001).  Included in this list is:

  • Attendance at CPER’s Annual Practice Review (APR)
  • Completion of a minimum amount of CME hours per year (PCP -8; ACP – 24)
  • Providing patient care to a minimum of 10 patients per year at Paramedic’s level of certification

Maintenance of certificaiton requirements can be met through a flexible and adaptable 3 Track System. Most Paramedics fall into Track 1, but Track 2 and 3 are designed for those paramedics that do not see patients regularly and instead demonstrate alternate experiences and other paitent care activites to fulfill MOC requirements.
